It’s officially September so I have a fun DIY fall sign for you today! And the best news is you can make it for $10 or less!
DIY Fall Sign
I purchased the materials for the fall sign at Hobby Lobby. The metal letters were on sale for half off making them $1.50 each. The wood stand was on sale for 30% off making it $4. But you could easily make the wood stand from some scrap wood cut to size and save the $4!
I started by pre-staining the wood stand. This helps the stain to go on evenly.
Next, I stained the wood piece with one of my favorite stains that I already had on hand.
After the piece was completely dry, it was time to attach the letters. Since I chose to hot glue the letters to the wood, I glued a small piece of cardstock to the back of each letter hook to give it a larger area to attach to the wood. I spaced out the letters on the wood before applying the glue so I would know where to place them.
Here is the fall sign all done!
You could change it up and do this DIY with any word you like – harvest, autumn, and pumpkins are just a few others that would be fun for fall!
