About

Welcome to Dori Turner Interiors!

My name is Dori and the purpose of this blog is to help you see that with a little guidance and the right tools YOU CAN create the home of your dreams on a budget. Let’s get back to the basics of discovering your style and learning how to put it together to create a space you can’t wait to come home to!

Decorating and DIY didn’t always come easy to me. And we certainly didn’t have the money to pay an interior decorator. I knew what I liked but I didn’t know what to call it or how to put it together. What’s my style? How do I choose the right paint color? How do I decorate a shelf? How should I arrange a gallery wall?

But I was determined to learn. I took some online courses, spent hours researching on Pinterest, and wasn’t afraid to fail. And fail I did. But I was also learning. After years of trial and error, it finally became natural.

And then others started asking my advice on decorating their own homes. But the biggest compliment was from my husband who told me I had made our house feel like home and he couldn’t wait to walk through the door at the end of the day. I love that man!

So if I can do this, you can, too! And my goal is to make the process easier for you.

A few fun facts about me:

I married my high school sweetheart 16 years ago and together we have three amazing kids!

We are sinners saved by grace who love Jesus and our purpose in life is to serve Him in everything we do.

I’ve been a stay-at-home mom, a homeschooling mom, and most recently a working mom.

I owned a small furniture business for several years while staying home with my kids and I love to refinish and repurpose!

My hubby and I are currently remodeling our fourth home. We love to DIY!

My absolute favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family and friends!

I also love to bake, especially with my kids! Some of the best memories are made in the kitchen.

Life can be crazy, especially when you’re trying to raise and provide for a family. My hope is that you will find your visit encouraging and refreshing and that you can find something to inspire you while you’re here!
